Hi Violin!

A step-by-step video course for brand-new violinists — from the very first open strings to all the major and minor keys.

Made for Aria’s in-person students, free for everyone. This course gets the first notes and fingers under the hands at home. The bow arm, posture and sound are best shaped with a teacher in the room. About in-person lessons →

Hi Violin! is Aria’s beginner course. Follow the lessons in order: each one adds one small new skill, like a new finger, a new bowing or a new rhythm.

1. One lesson at a time
Start at Lesson 1 and move on when it feels easy.
2. Copy, then play
Watch Aria, copy her bow and fingers, then play along.
3. Practise with games
Try the Violin Games to test the notes you’ve learned.
